National recognition
Pakistani Hero has published a profile of Ilhan Umer, founder and CEO of Zillion eLearning, in its series on the people building this country’s future. The feature is personal. What sits behind it is nine years of an industry that had to be built before it could be joined.

Learning built by Zillion eLearning

Plus the UN System Staff College, National Foods, and a Pakistani manufacturer running more than 63 of our courses on its own platform, seven years and counting.
Consulting engagements, 2022 to 2024

Learning design in regulated, high accountability environments, where the audit matters as much as the course.
The road to it
The profile takes the long view. Here is the same road, in our own words, from a first job in an industry that barely existed to a national list.
Corporate learning in Pakistan was not a profession a graduate could set out to enter. There was no course to take and no department to join. The people who did this work here learned it by doing it, usually while a client watched.

NUST Islamabad. Four years into the industry, and still no company to join that did this work at the standard the market would eventually need.

A custom eLearning and instructional design company, built for a market that had not asked for one yet.

A three year learning and development collaboration with National Foods Limited begins. The same year brings certification as a Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Executive and Team Coach.

Incubated at the National Incubation Center Islamabad. The K2 Expedition launches, a gamified blended learning system for senior leadership teams. Corporate LiveWire Innovation and Excellence Award, and a place in the Pakistan final of the Entrepreneurship World Cup.

Co-organised and sponsored the Dream Pakistan Conference. Spoke at the TRG Conference on eLearning, skilling and employability, to rooms that were starting to treat corporate learning as a sector rather than an errand.

Consulting on learning design through 2024 in regulated, high accountability environments. Alongside it, the National Science, Technology and Innovation Policy working group at the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Appointed at the Ministry of Planning. In the same period, Director of Learning and Development at P@SHA, the country’s software houses association.

The Chief Minister’s Skilled Punjab Initiative for advanced technology skills, alongside PSDF, PITB, PSEB and P@SHA. And a Pakistani Hero profile, on a list that runs to athletes, artists, scientists and public servants.

What the profile records
Seekhne ki Azadi is not a slogan. It is a mission towards building Pakistan’s Talent Powerhouse.
Ilhan Umer, Founder and CEO
Pakistan’s greatest untapped resource is not under its soil. It is in its people. A country this size does not become an economy by exporting its talent. It becomes one by preparing it, inside the organisations that already employ it.
